Bringing down the curtain on the three-day festival was Poornima Ashok in the Dandayudapani Pillai navaragamalika varnam "Saamiyai azhaittodi vaa sakhiye". Highly sensitive, both her nritta and abhinaya were of a high order. Along with the informed interpretative element, the excellent teermanams fashioned by Kiran Subramaniam, in the mnemonic syllable arrangement and changing gaits, and the abhinaya making itself felt even in the solfa passages made nritta a continuation of the sahitya mood, thereby creating an integrated whole with pure dance not standing out as a separate intervening entity.
